Citroen has been at the forefront of the global automotive industry for almost a century and in that time it has produced thousands of cars that have met the needs of drivers spanning a range of interests and budgets. While you can be confident of finding a Citroen car right for you, no matter what your current requirements may be, it’s important to spend a little time researching what options are available to you.

That way, you can rest assured of being able to source a vehicle that not only serves your needs, but is also within your budget. With that in mind, here are some insights into a few of the organisation’s current models that you may be interested in getting behind the wheel of.

C4

For those seeking a compact yet practical car, the Citroen C4 could prove to be an enticing prospect. First launched in 2004, the vehicle is a fantastic option for small families and it’s most recent incarnation offers the choice of three trims – VTR, VTR+ and Exclusive.

As you may have guessed from its name, VTR is the entry-level make of C4 and here you can choose between a VTi 95 petrol engine and HDi 90 turbo diesel. The latter is capable of going from zero to 62 mph in 12.9 seconds, but if you’re after something with a greater level of power you might wish to get the petrol version. This can reach 62 mph in 11.9 seconds and has a top speed of 113 mph.

Those wanting a higher-spec C4, however, should go for the Exclusive trim. With two petrol and three diesel engines to choose from, finding a model that offers the specific amount of performance you desire shouldn’t be too difficult. Select the VTi 120 petrol engine, however, and you’ll have a vehicle that can get to 52 mph from stationary in just 10.8 seconds.

DS3

The DS3 also makes for a fantastic car, with the three-door model coming in a variety of trims from the relatively basic DSign to the top-of-the-range Ultra Prestige.

By selecting the latter, you’ll have the choice between the THP 155 petrol engine and the diesel e-HDi 115. While both engine variants provide a powerful driving experience, by going for the THP 155 you will be behind the wheel of a vehicle that can reach 62 mph in 7.3 seconds. Regardless of whether you go for petrol or diesel, opting for this trim means you will also get to enjoy features such as 17-inch alloy wheels and a white leather interior.

Alternatively, you might want to go for the DStyle. Again, you can pick between a petrol and diesel engine here, with the former available with both manual and automatic gearboxes.

C5 Tourer

For those who need a car that offers a lot of space, the C5 Tourer is a great choice. The latest generation of the estate has six different trims, including the VTR+ and Exclusive, so finding one right for you can be managed relatively easily.

In going for the VTR+, you’ll have a vehicle that has a maximum boot capacity of 1,462 litres, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors and can reach 62 mph in 11.9 seconds. Other features include halogen headlamps, a pollen filter and chrome effect inserts on the dashboard.
