2013 Kia Carens

These are the first images of the new, third-generation Kia Carens MPV, revealed ahead of its world public premiere at the Paris Motor Show. The Paris show kicks of 27 September and along side the Carens will debut the aggressively style pro-cee’d hatchback and the new Sorento SUV.

Details are quite light at the moment – all will be revealed in Paris – but with the cee’d as its base, the Carens is likely to get the same choice of the firm’s latest petrol and diesel engines. And we can clearly see the facial similarities of these two new Kia models. Boy, have they come a long way since Peter Schreyer started sketching the design shapes. This is a good-looking MPV.

“The new Carens builds on the family-friendly versatility and functionality of its predecessor, and features more athletic and visually dynamic design,” comments Hyoung-Keun Lee, Vice Chairman and CEO, Kia Motors Corporation.  “This marks a dramatic shift forward for our MPV contender and brings the model in line with Kia’s distinctive current design direction.”

There’s plenty going on with Kia at the moment and their Paris show collection will be of interest to families on a budget in these tough times. The new Kia Carens will be in UK dealers next Spring.
