Mazda is doing its bit to get more people behind the wheel with special autumn deals on Mazda2 and Mazda3 models for Motability customers. As a bonus, Mazda is returning its legendary sportscar, the MX-5, to the Motability programme.

There will be a series of special deals on the Mazda3 and MX-5 as well as continued availability of the Mazda2 with no advance payment. The MX-5 will be available with an advance payment of £499 for the 1.8-litre SE variant or £849 for the 1.8i SE Air Con. Both are soft-top convertibles.

Motability customers can choose the Mazda3 with a 1.6-litre 104bhp engine and manual or automaitic transmission also for an advanced payment of £499. The automatic version, which tends to be more popular with Motability customers, has a four-speed gearbox with automatic and manual modes. It’s not too bad on fuel consumption at 37.2mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 176g/km. Standard equipment includes alloy wheels, air conditioning, electric front and rear windows, and a leather steering wheel with integrated audio controls.

The Mazda2, meanwhile, has long been a stalwart of Mazda’s Motability programme with the five-door, automatic variant proving especially popular. Mazda’s autumn deal includes the 1.5-litre 100bhp version. It does 0-62mph in 11.9 seconds and Co2 emissions are at 146g/km. Alloy wheels and air conditioning are standard.
