Having driven the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian pick-up truck, I can confirm that it is a powerful piece of all-terrain kit, with the attitude to match. And now Mitsubishi are offering extra piece of mind for potential new pick-up purchasers with a new, longer warranty. In fact, it’s the longest warranty of any pick-up truck on sale in the UK; a class-leading five years or 125,000 miles.
The Mitsubishi L200 comes in three cab types; single, club, and double, from the purely workman side of truck life to the more in-your-face and hanging out the back of parking spaces – it’s a big ol’ beast – L200 Barbarian ‘lifestyle’ truck that I drove. Thumping low-down torque is readily on tap from the 2.5-litre turbodiesel motor, and even with its generous capacity, I managed a good touch over 30mpg on my week-long test drive.
