BMW: The Ultimate Driving Machine

The BMW Group employs around 8,000 people in the UK at three main production plants, plus a further 11,000 in its 148 strong UK dealer network. Interestingly, the UK is the only country where BMW Group's three brands – BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars – are represented and is the third largest market and the second biggest production base for the BMW Group worldwide. 

Their famous 3-Series is a best-seller here in the UK with their 320d delivering much of what the fleet market wants, and most specifically, very low CO2 emissions for its size. 

More recent and more powerful BMW news comes in the sharp and slicing shape of the new M5 uber-saloon, going on sale towards the end of 2011.

The 560bhp, 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 powered super-cruiser weighs-in at over £73k but you do get a serious (limited) 155mph top speed matched with a 4.4secs to 62mph sprint time, in return for this large auto-investment.
