Toyota has an gigantic global presence and Britain is no exception, The Japanese automaker has been building cars in Britain since 1989 at plants in Deeside, North Wales, and Burnaston, Derbyshire. At these factories, the New Auris Hybrid, Auris 5-door and the Avenis roll off the assembly lines.
The Toyota Prius, one of the leaders in the hybrid market, has become a major success story for the brand, helping popularise the cleaner, greener joys of hybrid motoring and the brand has big plans for zero-emission electric vehicles with the unveiling of the EV prototype at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
With the launch of the FT-86 II, Toyota is also continuing its tradition of sporty motoring, following on from such iconic cars as the Supra, Celica and the original Toyota sports car, the 2000GT.
