Top Gear Live 2011: Show review
Friday, 25 November 2011 10:05 AM
The Top Gear Live show opened at London’s ExCel exhibition centre last night and runs until this Sunday (27th November). And I’ve got to say; they’ve really cranked it to the max!
I enjoyed last year’s show at Earl’s Court, but this year’s is impressively bigger, louder and madder than ever. Whoever comes up with the game ideas for the TV trio of Clarkson, May and Hamster to play out on stage must’ve been eating some seriously strong cheese!
You’ve got a static display of supercars; with some really rare stunners on the Auto Glym stand, mainstream automotive manufacturers showing off their latest cars and tech; including the UK debut of the new Citroen DS5, and a tasty sprinkle of wild tuner cars from the aftermarket industry.
Then you’ve got the action-track, presented by Tiff Needell and the Stig; featuring cars old (Group B rally beasts!) and new, fast and furious, and then you’ve got the live action arena presented by the Top Gear TV team, and packed with fiery, smoky, donut-y madness. There are some good chuckles from Clarkson too – a memorable line for me was: “a face like an exploded turtle!”
Here are a few TotallyMotor pics of hot show cars, and an official highlights video, to enjoy, just in case you can’t make it down to the ExCel, but those of you that do have a ticket for the show this weekend will not be disappointed.
