Motorists will have to be quick if they want to get their hands on the latest model from Subaru, with the manufacturer only making a limited number of the new XV Black.
The Japanese brand is releasing the variation of its compact crossover model with two engine types. Drivers can pick between the 2.0-litre Boxer diesel engine with a six-speed manual transmission, or its petrol sibling, which features Lineartronic automatic transmission.
One of the appealing features of the XV Black is its unique colouring. No prizes for guessing what this is, I'm afraid!
Furthermore, front, rear and side silver-resin underguards, front and rear mudflaps, a cargo step panel and a foldable cargo tray add to the car's rugged features.
While delivering a more muscular approach, the car still comes with a number of top safety features. In the Euro NCAP crash safety tests, the standard Subaru XV models achieved a class-leading rating, including one of the highest scores for child occupancy ever recorded, and the limited edition model is just the same.
Front, side, curtain and knee airbags and a rear view safety camera are installed as standard, while hazard avoidance is increased in the XV Black through a Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system.
Subaru says the car will be able to tackle both the urban and out of town environment, with high ground clearance and a low centre of gravity.
The car is still able to deliver top class efficiency however, with a lightweight body and highly efficient engines helping to limit carbon emission to just 146g/km, while providing drivers with a tank that is able to sustain 50.4mpg.
Available from £24,495 for the petrol model and £24,995 for the manual version, drivers could be fighting to get their hands on this well-priced versatile vehicle, which is given that little extra edge with the Crystal Black Silica paint exterior.
Be sure not to miss out on this strictly limited Subaru.
