Vauxhall Ampera is 2012 European Car of the Year

Vauxhall’s range-extending Ampera gets the 2012 European Car of the Year gong (COTY), with a decisive win for the green-leaning motor.
The final scores for all competing cars are as follows:
Vauxhall Ampera: 330. VW Up: 281. Ford Focus: 256. Range Rover Evoque: 186. Fiat Panda: 156. Citroen DS5: 144. Toyota Yaris: 122.
The win for the Ampera comes as a very useful PR boost for the car’s UK launch next week, and it’s pretty likely that the Vauxhall PR will be throwing a celebratory party at Geneva Motor Show, which kicks off tomorrow. They’ve got this evening to get some nice COTY badges printed up for the Vauxhall show stand, before the show doors open in the morning…
Good work Griffin-badge guys.
