New Kia Picanto City on sale

The Kia Picanto City was built for the city. Or, indeed, a town, and comes with a generous list of standard kit
Some Kia special edition action for you – the just-gone-on-sale Picanto City. It is, of course, an around-town-nipper, made in Korea, and for your just over £10k you get a fair amount of the finer things in auto-life.
Leading the attraction on the outside of the Kia Picanto City is metallic paint as standard, available in either Blaze Red or the Bright Silver seen here. Other exterior garnishes include a signature red front grille, 14-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles, heated door mirrors, and front fog lights. And helping to keep that metallic paint in fresh-factory condition are a set of reversing sensors.
Trim-wise inside, and we see premium cloth upholstery, plenty of storage, and a leather-trimmed steering wheel with audio controls. Features unique to the Picanto City include ambient LED lighting and a ‘Hollywood’ style vanity mirror with a jazzy-sounding three-stage illumination sequence. Bluetooth connectivity is also included to allow the driver to make hands-free calls via voice recognition and to stream music wirelessly.
There’s a decent haul of kit on the safety list too, with Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill Assist Control, and Cornering Brake Control – a first in the Picanto range. It’s got five seats and six airbags, too.
Probably most key of all for a car with ‘City’ in its name is the Picanto City’s low-emitting three-cylinder Kappa 1-litre MPI engine. It’s coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox and produces 99g/km of CO2 and delivers 67.3 mpg on the combined cycle, making it exempt from road tax and the London congestion charge. The Kia Picanto City is on sale now, priced at £10,245.
